"Drastic Plastics" are our largest selling cages. These cages are still ultimately stackable. We use the same top quality construction methods, plastic and solid hardware that our "Classic" line cages offer. What sets these cages apart from the Classic line of cages is they are not built with a 1/2" recess under the cage. These cages stack tightly on top of one another. The cage shown above is 2' x 2' x 10" high. The gap around the door is 1/10".

* The 12NDD and 18NDD cages are corner connectors intended only for use when connecting cages into a corner configuration. They have two openings and no door. Click the photo below to see the "Expandable Cage Corner Connector" and other expandable options.

Click here to view our "Classic Line" cages.

The cages shown above and below are also 2' x 2' x 10" high.

The photo below illustrates how the cages come together at the front. We have used our same original idea using pins to "lock" the cages together in stacks so they stay straight. Without them it would be very easy to nudge them out of alignment because they are so light weight. These little cages shown weigh only about 13 lb. each!

You may heat these in any of several ways. You can run Flexwatt behind the stack and heat a strip at the back. If you have two stacks back to back you can heat two stacks this way. I have a number of stacks of cages heated using this method. Another way to heat these cages is to run your Flexwatt at the left or right of the stack and either cover that Flexwatt with another stack of cages thereby heating both stacks or you may cover the Flexwatt with insulation of some sort. Another option is simply running Flexwatt on top of one cage and below the other sandwiching the Mylar heater between the plastic cages. Most of my cages are heated using the "end heat" method with Flexwatt between the stacks. This heats one end of the cage and works great even in four foot wide cages.

This photo shows the end of a "Drastic Plastic" cage. This illustrates how the cage is constructed. The cage bottom and top is flat. The "Classic" line of cages have a 1/2" buildup to allow you to include an under tank heater or Flexwatt if you wish to heat your herp..
